Recover requires specific Shopify permissions in order to securely access and protect store data.

Permissions are used exclusively for:

• Creating backups
• Restoring store data
• Exporting backup files
• Supporting migration workflows
• Monitoring operational activity

Recover does not modify store data unless a restore, import, or operational action is initiated by the merchant.
